Director Bioanalytics

The Position – Your role

We are seeking an experienced scientist to strengthen the bioanalytic team for several research and development programs at LAVA Therapeutics. The Director BA will contribute to preclinical and clinical bioanalysis strategy, assay development, and implementation and managing regulated bioanalytical work outsourced to CROs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to identify, develop, and implement bioanalytical strategies. Experience with transfer of bioanalytical methods to external service providers and familiarity with validation standards for bioanalytical assays in support of IND-enabling and clinical studies is highly desired.

The tasks and responsibilities of your new position include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the scientific and technical liaison between LAVA Therapeutics and CROs for outsourced bioanalytical activities such as bioanalytical method development, validation, nonclinical/clinical sample analysis;
  • Work closely with the LAVA Therapeutics team to set up contracts, schedule assay method development, sample shipments/sample analyses/reporting, and help facilitate any other necessary operational activities;
  • Manage relationships with external service providers;
  • Advice on assay strategy, assay development, assay validation and troubleshooting activities in-house and at external parties;
  • Contribute to, and review scientific protocols, reports, publications, regulatory filings and their responses to regulatory queries, SOPs and other guidelines;
  • Conduct scientific data review in accordance with current regulatory guidance and industry standards;
  • Function as a bridge between preclinical and clinical development;
  • Collaborate and communicate actively across departments, program teams as well as CROs to ensure high quality PK/TK bioanalytical data in a timely fashion.

The Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following expertise:

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with > 5 years of relevant bioanalytical experience in pharmaceutical industry or CROs;
  • Thorough knowledge of regulated bioanalysis in nonclinical development, along with translation of those assays into clinical development;
  • Experience with antibody therapeutics is highly desired;
  • Strong skills and technical knowledge on LBA based bioanalytical method development, validation, and troubleshooting is essential;
  • Experience in a Biomarker assays platform (e.g., flow cytometry or others) is a pre;
  • Management experience on or within bioanalytical CROs;
  • You are familiar with main bioanalytical software such as SoftMax Pro, GraphPad Prism, DOE, etc. next to Microsoft Office software;
  • Strong scientific writing skills on bioanalytical reports, as well as other scientific reports and documents;
  • Enthusiasm, integrity, exceptional problem-solving skills, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to the detail and accuracy are describing your personality.
